North Coast Memorial Charters

The desire to spread or scatter the cremated remains of a loved one in a special place has become a popular choice. Many of the families we have served have chosen this method of final placement of the cremated remains for various reasons including a love of nature or the water, fond memories, economic reasons or just being uncomfortable with the idea of a formal cemetery burial.



Ashes Scatterings are performed approximately three miles offshore in the local waters of Lake Erie, off the shores of Port Clinton, Ohio. A burial certificate, suitable for framing that will list the date and GPS location coordinates is included. Locations can be customized, but there may be an additional cost incurred.

On a typical 60-90 minute boat trip for scattering of ashes, your group will board and travel about 30 minutes, the boat will be brought to a rest and the ashes will be released by your family or our crew and any memorial can be done at that time.

Captain's Service 

Unattended Committal to Lake Erie - $199

    Often families cannot venture out on the water or attend a scattering

ashes memorial service due to distance and/or time constraints. 

 Ca        Capt. Sue brings the cremated remains on the voyage for you. We provide a     respectful, dignified lake scattering in the local offshore waters of Lake Erie.

 

We will provide flowers, an absolute confirmation via photograph

and a dissemination certificate which will list the exact date, time and GPS location coordinates. 

    The family does not attend this placement. Ashes can be delivered

personally, shipped to North Coast Memorial Charters or come directly

from the funeral home/crematory.

A biodegradable urn (floating or otherwise) is required as well as a

biodegradable bag that holds the cremains.

           Family/Friends Memorial Service

           Attended Committal to Lake Erie- $329

          (4-5 attendees, dependent of 1000 lb weight limit)

    For those families wishing to plan their own memorial voyage,

we provide the vessel and captain. You select the time,

place and arrangements. We can help you plan every detail

     of this special memorial.

   North Coast Memorial Charters will work closely with you

to make this a fitting memorial occasion, carefully evaluating

your needs and desires to insure a safe, comfortable

and memorable experience for all.
